Healthy Caramel Slice Recipe Ingredients:
For the Base
- 1 cup almond flour
- 1/4 cup coconut oil, melted
- 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
For the Caramel Layer:
- 1 cup pitted dates
- 1/4 cup almond butter
- 1 scoop caramel biscuit protein powder
- 2 tbsp coconut oil, melted
- 1/4 cup almond milk (or any milk of choice)
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
For the Chocolate Topping:
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
Caramel Slice Recipe Instructions:
1. Prepare the base
- Preheat your oven to 175°C and line an 8x8-inch baking pan with baking paper.
- In a bowl, mix almond flour, melted coconut oil, and honey until well combined.
- Press the mixture evenly into the prepared baking pan.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown. Let it cool completely.
2. Make the Caramel Layer
- In a food processor, blend dates until smooth.
- Add almond butter, caramel biscuit protein powder, melted coconut oil, almond milk, and sea salt. Blend until smooth and creamy.
- Spread the caramel mixture evenly over the cooled base. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to set.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown. Let it cool completely.
3. Prepare the Chocolate Topping
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt dark chocolate chips and coconut oil together in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth.
- Pour the melted chocolate over the caramel layer, spreading it evenly.
- Refrigerate for another 30 minutes, or until the chocolate is set.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown. Let it cool completely.
4. Serve:
- Once set, cut into 16 squares and enjoy!
